Indonesia - Replanting cocoa farms to increase productivity
Limited access to planting materials, poor farming practices and aging trees are among the main challenges that need to be overcome in order to increase cocoa farmers’ income. Replanting farms at an aggressive rate is limiting for those farmers who don’t have access to seedlings, nor the savings to purchase them. In Indonesia, we are expanding our seedling capacity and including seedlings for a diverse crop model. In addition, via a pre-financing model, we are enabling farmers to invest in the future of their farms.
