What is Chufa?
Chufa is commonly called tigernut. It's not only tasty but nutritious. Chufa contains vitamins, minerals, etc.
Unlike its name suggests, tigernut isn't a nut but a round root. For our chocolate, we ground it into an extra fine powder.
What does it taste like?
Tigernut has a naturally sweet taste and creamy mouthfeel, similar to chestnut and almond. It is used in "Horchata de chufa", a milk-like plant-based drink enjoyed by millions of Spanish consumers for decades.
How is it grown?
Tigernut is grown across the world, but the majority comes from West Africa and Spain. They are sowed in April, for a harvest around November. The roots are pulled out from the soil. while the leaves are discarded. Then they are washed, dried, sterilized, and finally ground into a unique very fine powder used in our chocolate.
Plant-based experience that doesn't compromise on taste
The M_lk Chocolate is not only dairy-free but also creamy, milky and does not compromise on the typical milk chocolate flavour and texture.
