Chocovic: 150 years of chocolate love
It's been 150 years since this true love story for chocolate began. Back in 1872 Chocolates Arumí was founded on the initiative of the Head Chef at the episcopal palace. en, in 1974, three chocolatiers, Arumí, Ametller and Tupinamba, decided to join forces to continue the journey and supply all three brands based on semi-finished cocoa products.
The company was called Chocovic. A few years later, the business passed into the hands of the Rius family. In this new era, Chocovic focused exclusively on making industrial chocolate products plus cakes and pastries. In the mid-1990s, the drive to take chocolate further culminated in the birth of Aula Chocovic, the first school dedicated to chocolate in Spain. From that time all the way through until today, as part of the Barry Callebaut group, Chocovic has kept alive its passion and commitment to fostering talent and craftsmanship as part of the brand’s core identity.
Chocovic's 150 years have provided plenty of material for stories, and many people have played a vital role in such a long history. We've been chatting with some of the people who were part of this journey of constant improvement, so they can help us tell the story and understand what lies at its heart.
